Flash Technique

Developed by Dr. Philip Manfield, in 2016, Flash technique is a new method that addresses one of the biggest hurdles clients have towards being open to EMDR, “I don’t want to feel the pain”.

Flash allows clients to reduce the intensity or level of distress associated with past memories without having to talk about the memory itself. This allows clients defenses to be lowered and increases the brains processing.

Flash is a complimentary method to EMDR. Often Flash is used to work through a distressing event in its entirety or enough to were the client is open to EMDR. EMDR can then be used to work through the remainder beliefs, body sensations or connections to the memory.
